INTRODUCTION 1. The Republic of Namibia (Namibia) is a State Party to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights (the African Charter), having ratified it on 30 July 1992. 2. Namibia submitted its Sixth Periodic Report in accordance with Article 62 of the African Charter on 23 November 2015 and the Report covered the period 2011 to 2013. 3. The African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (the Commission) considered the Report at its 58th Ordinary Session, held from 6 to 20 April 2016, in Banjul, Islamic Republic of The Gambia. 4. The Report was presented to the Commission by the Delegation from Namibia (the Delegation) which comprised the following officials:         Mr. I.V.K.
