AND TO SEE TO IT THAT THESE FREEDOMS AND RIGHTS AS WELL AS CORRESPONDING OBLIGATIONS AND DUTIES ARE UNDERSTOOD. Botswana promotes respect of rights under the Charter in educational institutions from Primary School, Secondary School and Tertiary level. At primary and secondary level, human rights issues are incorporated in the Social and Cultural Studies, Moral Education, Guidance and Counselling, Development Studies, History, Geography and Environmental Science curriculum. At Tertiary level, human rights issues are covered in legal and administrative courses. Further, the curriculum for disciplined forces in Botswana such as Botswana Police Service, Botswana Defence Force and Botswana Prisons Service all include human rights. Civil Society Organisations such as DITSHWANELO, Women against Rape and Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and AIDS (BONELA) are also proactive in sensitising the public about human rights under the Charter. The conferment of the human rights mandate on the Ombudsman goes towards intensification of the promotion and protection of human rights. ARTICLES 27, 28 AND 29 EVERY INDIVIDUAL SHALL HAVE DUTIES TOWARDS FAMILY AND SOCIETY, THE STATE AND OTHER LEGALLY RECOGNISED COMMUNITIES AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY.
