As the National Focal Point of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) of
Nigeria, I am delighted to present the Second Progress Report on the Implementation of the National Programme of Action.

Nigeria acceded to the African Peer Review Mechanism in 2003 and was peerreviewed in 2008, at the Extra-Ordinary Summit of the African Peer Review
(APR) Forum that was held on 25th October, 2008 in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. Arising from the exercise is the National Programme of Action which Nigeria has been implementing since 2009. In January 2011, His Excellency, Dr.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the
Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, presented the First Progress
Report on the Implementation of the National Programme of Action during
the 14th Summit of the APR Forum in Addis Ababa. He promised on that occasion that the Second Progress Report would be presented to the APR Forum in
