Over the years, there has been a progressive improvement in the ratio of female Foreign Officers recruited into the Nigerian Foreign Service. ii. In the Next decade, female Foreign Service Officers will constitute not less than 35% of the Management Cadre of Officers. This will compare favourably with any Foreign Service in the world and be among the global best practice. iii. Another implication is that in the next one decade at the maximum, not less than 30% of Nigeria’s Career Ambassadors will be women. This will also represent a global best practice. Response Measures for victims of violence (a) Rehabilitation Services/Provision of Shelters There has been a remarkable increase in the number of shelters available to victims of violence since the last reporting period. Table 8.1 below presents some of such shelters currently operational in the country. 150
