CHAPTER 3: - Right to Human Dignity and Prohibition of Torture and Inhuman Treatment: Article 5 1. Constitutional and Judicial Measures  Section 34 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution guarantees the right to human dignity and to freedom from torture, inhuman or degrading treatment, and freedom from being held in slavery or servitude as well as freedom from being subjected to any unconstitutional forced or compulsory labour.  The Legal Aid Council is in collaboration with Lawyers Without Borders, France and the Nigerian Bar Association has concluded training and creating awareness on the provisions of United Nations Convention Against Torture to Lawyers, Police, Judiciary, Prison Officials and other Stakeholders in the four states of Kaduna, Lagos, Plateau, Kano.
