Economic, Social and Cultural Rights
48. Ethiopia should:
i.
take appropriate measures to include human rights in the curricula of
schools and universities;
ii.
raise the awareness of the entire population about their rights, legal
procedures and available remedies;
iii.
strengthen ongoing HIV/AIDS sensitization programmes, in particular
programmes targeting the youth from underprivileged communities.
Women and Children’s Rights
49. Ethiopia should:
i.
enact a law to increase women’s representation in decision-making
institutions;
ii.
build operational and institutional mechanisms to combat violence against
women and children and provide support to victims of violence;
iii.
provide free health care to pregnant women and children below five years
to reduce the high rate of maternal and child mortality.
