INTRODUCTION 1. Togo presented the 3rd, 4th and 5th combined periodic reports on the implementation of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights at the 50th Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, held in Banjul (Republic of The Gambia) from 24 October to 5 November, 2011. 2. In accordance with Article 62 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the Togolese State is presenting its 6th, 7th and 8th reports on the implementation of the aforementioned Charter. 3. These reports were prepared by the Inter-Ministerial Committee responsible for preparing initial and periodic reports, and it included representatives of civil society organisations working on human rights activities in line with relevant guidelines consisting of four parts: 4.
