Mobile Number Portability
The country introduced Mobile Number Portability to offer choice to subscribers. As at
end September 2011, a total of 105,678 mobile phone subscribers had taken advantage of
the MNP to move from one mobile service provider to another. After the expiration of
their 30-day mandatory waiting period, 2,477 subscribers elected to port back to their
previous service provider, whilst 303 subscribers ported to a third network. This means
that the vast majority of customers who have ported so far remain satisfied with their
decision to change providers.
