Government also established a number of other Independent Commissions such as the Zimbabwe Gender Commission, Zimbabwe Media Commission, the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission charged with quasi-judicial functions and the mandate to promote specific rights falling under their respective portfolios. 28. Elimination of All Forms Of Discrimination Against Women 28.1. The Commission is referred to the Report on the Protocol to the African Charter on the rights of Women (Part C of this Report) which contains detailed information on the measures taken within Zimbabwe to give effect to the rights of women.
