Questions relating to the right to vote, the right to stand as a candidate in elections, and restrictions on registration on an electoral list are addressed in Act No. 036/PR/2015 on the Electoral Code of the Republic of Chad. Under Article 3: “All Chadians of either sex who have turned eighteen (18) on election day, are in enjoyment of their civil and political rights, are registered on the electoral rolls and are not subject to any incapacity provided for by law shall be entitled to vote”. With regard to restrictions, Article 6 provides that “individuals who have been deprived of their civil and political rights by the courts may also not be registered on the electoral rolls”. 153. Concerning the participation of women in public life, Article 13 of the Chadian Constitution stipulates that “Chadians of both sexes have the same rights and duties”. Thus, of the 188 National Assembly members, there are twenty-eight (28) women; the Government has a 30% quota for women. 154.
