In a bid to reduce backlog of cases the Court-connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is also introduced pursuant to Practice Direction No.1 of 2013 as part of practice and procedure for the High Court. The purpose of the court-connected ADR is to reduce the backlog of cases before a trial judge. In this regard litigants take control of the outcome of their cases. It is a confidential process and is without prejudice to the rights of litigants who subsequently opt to proceed to trial after exploring ADR. The courtconnected ADR is under the purview of the Master of the High Court.
