13 - Energy At the end of 2002, gross production of electrical energy declined by 1.4%, dropping from 121,139.7 thousand KWH on the 31st December 2001 to 119,466 thousand KWH in 2005. Since 2002, expectations for the diversification of energy products have been taking shape gradually. Seismic research has shown the existence of large reserves of petrol and gas. - Mines Mining commenced in the CAR in 1958.
