473. Women and children, in rural areas in particular, suffer from chronic hunger. As reflected
in the next chart, stunting in Lesotho ranges from a minimum of 28.9% in Botha Bothe to
51.2% in Qacha’s Nek. The national prevalence of stunting is 36.2% which would suggest
an increase from the 2014 DHS (33.3%). Indicatively, wasting in Lesotho range from a
minimum of 1.0% in Botha Bothe to 7.0% Qacha’s Nek. The national prevalence of
wasting is 4.7% which would suggest an increase from the 2014 DHS (3.5%).
