Despite women constituting majority of the population in Lesotho, they have historically been marginalised in enjoyment of civil and political as well as social, cultural and economic rights. However, as will be illustrated in the next parts of this report, the government of Lesotho has made strides is addressing the historic discrimination of women through legislative, judicial and administrative measures although as will be illustrated some challenges still remain.
