VI. Conclusion By ratifying the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, Algeria has confirmed its willingness to participate actively in the development of the African regional system for the promotion and protection of human rights, the essence being to meet the needs of African countries and people and sticking to African realities. It ensures the implementation of the Charter’s provisions by harmonizing its domestic legislation and complying with the Charter, while supporting this adaptation of the legislative and regulatory arsenal through actions and achievements in the field, both in terms of promotion than that of protection. Under the promotion, all the sectors concerned and the National Advisory Commission for the promotion and protection of human rights, ensure the dissemination of the provisions of the Charter. Under the protection, Algerian law and the resulting measures have consistently expanded spaces for the enjoyment of child rights and child well being. It is in this spirit of full adherence to the Charter, that this report was prepared. His presentation stems from the desire of the Government of Algeria to develop its cooperation with the Committee and to provide additional information or answer any questions that he may deem it useful to provide, under the procedure of pre-session. ---------------------------------------------------------- 75
