The Africa Governance Report 6.4 Recommendations for Development and Governance Some of the major hindrances to development and governance revolve around inclusive development, management of natural resources and threats such as illicit financial flows and corruption. The following are recommendations to improve development and governance: Members States are encouraged to: 1. formulate development plans and programmes for inclusive human development. 2. align their National Development Plans, and in some cases, their National Action Plans (from the APRM self-assessment process), with the AU Agenda 2063 and UN SDGs. 3. ensure the sustainable and prudent use of natural and other resources to enable the people of the continent and future generations to benefit from them.
