Lack of Affirmative Action Legislation
Ghana does not have a legal framework to enforce the Affirmative Action (AA) Policy.
Affirmative Action is a policy purposely designed to create equal opportunity to groups
who have not only benefitted from existing processes and structures but are affected
negatively because of the situation. An AA legislation in Ghana, will ensure a quota
system of at least 30 percent representation of women in Parliament, District Assemblies,
public and political offices.
