ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS 10 Article 13: Economic and Social Welfare Rights and Article 19 Right to Sustainable Development Constitutional and Legislative Measures 10.1 The Constitution mandates the State to take appropriate measures to create employment for all Zimbabweans especially women and youths and further enjoins Government to promote equal representation of men and women in all institutions and agencies of Government at every level and full participation of women in all other spheres of Zimbabwean society on the basis of equality with men. The Constitution also states that every employee is entitled to just, equitable and satisfactory conditions of work and that men and women have the right to equal remuneration for similar work and the right to three months paid maternity leave113. 10.2 The Constitution mandate Government to ensure that every person has the right to choose and carry on any profession trade or occupation.
