The public office moralisation unit established by decree n°96-579 of 19th December, 1996 carried out its duties of prevention and combating corruption up to 2006. The unit has contributed among others to the creation of the Pecuniary Settlements Fund for lawyers to combat the misappropriation of monies paid by Insurance Companies to beneficiaries, and for the compilation of manuals of procedure, in collaboration with the different services, for users within the civil service ; the unit also conducted sensitisation with the assistance of civil society organisations. - 20 -
