In the year 2017 total number of 121 victims were rescued, 42 suspects arrested and 26 of them convicted representing conviction rate of 62%, representing an increase of 2% during same period of the year 2016. Phalombe and Mchinji are among the districts with strengthened community policing structures assisting in curbing trafficking in persons. 202 Cooperation and information exchange mechanisms have also been established with neighbouring countries.
