6.0 STRENGTHENING THE NEXUS: A ROLE FOR THE APRM IN THE COUNTRY REVIEWS PROCESSES The APRM and Governance in Africa The Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) was established in 2002 as Africa’s response to the continent’s governance problems and received wide acclaim as a much needed vehicle for entrenching positive values of governance and democracy.
