932- As part of the Project for Advocacy, Structuring and Support to local communities for the humanization of widowhood rites pushed forward by the CIPCRE from January 2015 to June 2017 in 8 villages of the West Region440, customary codes establishing standard norms for the performance of widowhood rites were developed by the communities. To highlight acceptance of new standards, official presentation ceremonies were held in each locality with the traditional Rulers in their capacity as custodians of tradition, and sometimes in the presence of the administrative authority. To ensure acceptance and enforcement of these codes, an Observatory of Widowhood Rites has been set up in each of the 8 villages with a total of more than 400 members. 440 These are the villages of Bafoussam, Baleng, Bamendjida, Bazou, Babete, Balengou, Bamena and Bangoulap 154
